HOW TO USE CHAT ON MICROSOFT EDGE
To begin using the Chat feature on Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:
1.Launch Microsoft Edge.
2.Click on the Bing (discovery) button located in the top-right corner of the browser.
3.Note that you must be signed in with your Microsoft account and have access to the new Bing experience. 4.If you do not have access, sign up here.
5.Select the Chat tab.
6.Under the "Set tone of responses" section, choose the "Balanced" option, which is recommended.
7.Click on the "Yes, turn on" option to grant the company access to your browser content so that Bing can understand the context of your queries.
8.Type your question in the "Ask me anything" box and hit Enter to receive an answer.
9.If necessary, ask another related question to further refine the answer. The chatbot understands the context, so there's no need to repeat key points from your original question.
10.Hover over the response to learn more about the source of the information. If you wish to view the source data, click on the link to open the corresponding web page.
11.To end the current chat session and start a new one, click on the "New topic" (broom) icon located next to the search box.
HOW TO USE COMPOSE ON MICROSOFT EDGE
If you want to use the Compose feature from Bing on Edge, follow these steps:
1.Launch Microsoft Edge.
2.Click on the Bing (discovery) button located in the top-right corner of the browser.
3.Select the Compose tab.
4.In the "Write about" section, type the details of the content you want the Bing chatbot to compose.
5.Choose one of the available tones - "Professional," "Casual," "Enthusiastic," "Informational," or "Funny" - in the "Tone" section.
6.Select one of the available formats - "Paragraph," "Email," "Blog post," or "Ideas" - in the "Format" section.
7.Pick one of the length options - "Short," "Medium," or "Long" - in the "Length" section.
8.Click on the "Generate draft" button.
9.If needed, click on the "Add to site" button to copy and paste the generated content directly into an email or web app like Word Online.
To experiment with the new Bing integration in Microsoft Edge, you'll need to have version 111.0.1661.41 or later installed. The integration is available in both the Stable and Dev Channels.
